Stewart in Excellent Company
Okay, so everyone thinks Tony Stewart is a crybaby! Well he is in excellent company.
For years fans have been calling Jeff Gordon (4 time Cup Champion) and Jimmie Johnson (1 time cup Champion) crybabies. So I guess Tony (2 time Cup Champion) is in great company.
Give me a break! Folks I can't believe that people are reacting this way to what Tony has done. This is nothing new for Stewart. Everytime he is mad and a microphone is stuck into his face he lets it fly. Remember the S--- word Controversy at Indy a few years back?
Tony Stewart is best known for letting it fly and then having to step back. That is why the media does it too him. They know if Tony is mad, it is good for their ratings.
When Tony is happy, Tony is not controversial. But when Tony is mad, he lets his mouth rule his head. Now I am not saying that is a good thing, but let's face it, at least you know what you get with Tony.
He is not going to say, "Oh, well, that was just racing." No, he is going to give you his point of view whether it is right or wrong.
And no I do not like the fact that he does this. Being a Stewart fan, I cringe every time that a microphone is stuck in his face after a wreck. Because, I know that no matter what he says, it is going to play out in the media for a whole week or more.
Jeff Gordon could do the exact same thing and nothing would ever be said about it. Why? Because everyone knows that Jeff Gordon is more politically correct than controversial. Jeff Gordon doesn't keep the fans coming back for more to see what next he will do. Tony Stewart has that honor.
People know that when Tony Stewart gets frustrated with his season, he is more likely to say something stupid, than he is to keep his mouth shut.
THE GREATEST UNKNOWN CONSPIRACY
I can see you scratching your head right now. Think about it. There is always the talk about the conspiracy between NASCAR and Hendricks Motorosports. But what if that is just talk and the real conspriacy is between Tony Stewart and NASCAR.
NASCAR loves it when Tony sticks his foot into his mouth. Tony Stewart is probably the best media symbol that NASCAR has had since Dale Earnhardt Sr. or Darrell Waltrip.
People love a villian. Especially one who shows alot of emotion. And Tony Stewart is the perfect villian. And NASCAR knows that little fact.
So that is why NASCAR loves it when Tony sticks his foot into his mouth. His car owner and sponsors might not like it. But NASCAR loves it. Regardless of what NASCAR says in the media. Behind close doors, NASCAR is going cha-ching all the way to the bank.
When Tony spouts off that is all that is talked about. Whether it be in the newsprint, TV sports shows, or on blog sites such as this.
NASCAR loves Tony Stewart. And they want to make sure that they keep him around.
For NASCAR Tony Stewart is the greatest thing since they went asphalt racing.
